Description

T-Silox is a solvent-free, 100% silane/siloxane concentrate used to produce penetrating water repellent sealers for concrete, brick, natural stone and other masonry substrates.

Recommended Uses

When diluted with an appropriate organic solvent, T-Silox will produce a penetrating colourless water repellent treatment for masonry substrates such as concrete, clay brick, cement mortars/renders, tiles and grout, and natural stones.

After dilution with a suitable solvent, it also functions as a damp‑coursing fluid for installing a silicone damp course in masonry walls. T-Silox may also be incorporated into solvent-based acrylic formulations to produce products that are impregnating/coating combinations.

Key Features

  • Deeply penetrates into masonry substrate.
  • Permanently bonds to the substrate with no peel or blister.
  • UV, alkali stable and durable formulation.
  • Reduces water penetration, efflorescence and water-borne staining.
  • Does not significantly change the surface appearance or vapour permeability.
  • Provides a good surface water repellent beading effect.

Application and Use

T‑Silox is a 100% silane/siloxane concentrate. Dilute it to 5–20% by weight with an appropriate organic solvent before use. Suitable solvents include hydrocarbon solvents, dry alcoholic solvents, or other compatible organic solvents. Because dilution ratios, application methods, and masonry substrates vary, you MUST conduct adequate testing before use to confirm the product’s suitability for the intended purpose.

Handling & Storage

T‑Silox is a hazardous and combustible material. Consult the material safety data sheet for safe‑handling requirements. Follow standard industrial hygiene practices during use. Avoid vapour inhalation and prevent skin or eye contact by wearing appropriate protective equipment. Use an air‑purifying respirator if high vapour concentrations are possible. Wash hands after handling. Store the product in a closed container in a cool, dry location away from fire or ignition sources. When kept in its sealed original container below 25 °C, the product has a shelf life of 12 months. Use T‑Silox only in well‑ventilated areas, keep it away from fire or ignition sources, and ensure it remains out of reach of children.
