Quickset

Description

Quickset is an admixture used as a setting accelerant in cement mortars. Use it in conjunction with Mortar Additive to accelerate setting times when laying Tech‑Dry Blocks in cold climates or whenever fast‑setting mortar is required.

Use Instructions

Quickset works in conjunction with Techdryad Mortar Additive at a dosage rate of 0.5–1 litre per 40 kg of cement with a cement‑to‑sand ratio of 1:4. Increase the dosage in colder conditions to achieve the required setting performance.

Add Quickset separately after Mortar Additive has been thoroughly mixed. Do not pre‑mix the two products.

Addition

• Combine 300 ml of Mortar Additive with 2 shovels (~12 kg) of cement and 10 shovels (~60 kg) of sand.
• Blend thoroughly, then add 150–300 ml of Quickset.
• Continue mixing until the desired consistency is achieved.
• Add clean water if required to adjust consistency.

Dosage

• Adjust the addition rate depending on temperature and required set time.
• At 20 °C, the recommended dosage accelerates setting by approximately 1 hour.
• Increase the dose in colder conditions or when faster setting is required.
• 20 litres of Quickset will lay approximately 2,000 Tech‑Dry Blocks.

Important Note

• Because cement mortars vary, conduct a small‑scale test before application to confirm suitability.
• Do not use this product in warm or hot climates where temperatures are high.

Handling & Storage

Quickset is classified as non‑hazardous. Follow good industrial hygiene practices when handling. Wear appropriate protection to avoid vapour inhalation and skin or eye contact, and wash hands thoroughly after use. Store the product in closed containers in a cool, dry place, away from fire or ignition sources, at temperatures preferably between 5 °C and 25 °C. Keep the product in its sealed original container to ensure a 12‑month shelf life. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
