DENSACRETE 90 is a concrete densification sealer based on innovative silicate technology. This non-film-forming sealer blocks capillaries and reacts with concrete to create a hardened, dust-proof, and colour-enhanced finish. When polished, it delivers a smooth or glossy surface. Unlike conventional treatments, DENSACRETE 90 leaves no visible efflorescence, ensuring a clean, durable result.
DENSACRETE 90 is used for treating concrete including residential floors, commercial car parks, and factory or warehouse flooring. Applications include treating new and old concrete slabs for strengthening and dust-proofing, to create a hard, smooth/glossy and colour enhanced polished finish. DENSACRETE 90 an also be used for sealing other masonry substrates including natural stone, clay bricks and ceramic tiles. Always conduct a suitability test before treating non-concrete substrates to ensure optimal performance.
Thoroughly clean the concrete surface to remove contaminants that may block DENSACRETE 90 from penetrating effectively. Ensure the surface is completely dry before application.
Properly cure new concrete before treatment. Remove all curing compounds, release agents, and surface coatings or membranes, then clean and dry the area. For acid-treated concrete, neutralise the surface, rinse with water and allow it to dry fully before applying DENSACRETE 90.
For polished concrete, grind the surface to 200 grit or the desired finish to expose capillaries or aggregates. This maximises sealer absorption to achieve optimum concrete densification and desired surface finish.
Mix DENSACRETE 90 thoroughly before use. Apply as a ready-to-use sealer or dilute it as required for specific applications.
Use a low-pressure hand sprayer, brush, or broom to apply the sealer. Evenly flood the surface, avoiding pooling. Maintain a mirror-like wet film for up to 30 minutes to ensure maximum absorption. If the surface absorbs the first coat quickly, immediately apply a second coat using the wet-on-wet method. For porous or permeable concrete, repeat this process until the surface reaches saturation and no longer absorbs additional sealer.
Remove any excess product that remains unabsorbed after 30 minutes to prevent the formation of surface residues, which may become difficult to remove once cured.
After DENSACRETE 90 has fully cured and dried, polish or buff the concrete to achieve the desired finish. Reapply DENSACRETE 90 after each polishing cycle to enhance densification and surface quality. This polishing process can be repeated until the desired surface finish is achieved.
For added protection against water and oil, apply Tech-Dry’s water and oil-resistant densification sealer, or another compatible repellent as a topcoat following the final polish. For product compatibility and application advice contact Tech-Dry at (03) 9699 8202.
The application rate of DENSACRETE 90 varies depending on the porosity of concrete. Dense or new concrete will have a low absorption rate, whereas porous, permeable or old concrete will absorb more sealer. Typical consumption ranges from 5 to 20 m² per litre per coat, though actual rates may vary significantly depending on substrate conditions.
Curing begins immediately after application. For best results, allow at least 24 hours before any exposure to heavy traffic or rain. Full densification typically develops over 7 days or more.

DENSACRETE 90 penetrates concrete capillaries, blocks pores, and hardens the surface to enhance durability. However, the degree of densification and surface hardening depends on multiple variables. To ensure suitability for your specific project, conduct a pilot test before full-scale application. For technical support or product guidance contact Tech-Dry at (03) 9699 8202.
Handle DENSACRETE 90 with care, as it is an alkaline solution. Avoid skin and eye contact by wearing appropriate protective gear. Although vapour inhalation risk is low, use an air-purifying respirator if exposed to high concentrations. Always wash hands thoroughly after handling.
Store the sealer in its original sealed container below 25°C. Keep it away from aluminium surfaces. Use the product before its expiry date, and once opened, apply it as soon as possible to maintain performance integrity.
Keep out of reach of children.
DENSACRETE 90 is available in 20 litre plastic containers. Other sized packages are available on request.
