Damp Coursing Systems
Rising damp is the natural phenomena of moisture containing ground salts
rising by capillary action up a brick or masonry structure, eg. Wall or
fireplace. The common causes are deterioration due to age and bridging of a
damp-course with internal concrete floors, renders or external paths and
earth levels.
Rising damp can display one or several of the following symptoms:
Internal Wall
- Peeling and/or bubbling paint work
- Cracked and/or bubbling plaster work
- Water tide mark
- Efflorescence
- Paint deterioration
- Rotting timber skirting boards
External Wall
- Efflorescence
- Water tide mark
- Fretting brickwork
- Crumbling mortar
The only solution to rising damp is to install a new damp-course to block moisture migration up the wall. Tech-Dry have developed two innovative damp course installation systems, DAMP COURSE CREAM and DAMP COURSE FLUID.
